When you use Zatient, you trust us with your information. This Privacy Policy is meant to help you understand what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

Information we collect

You are welcome to use Zatient in a number of ways. You can try it as a demo, to explore the features and structure of the site. Or you can try it as a guest, without registering, to input real or simulated health information about a patient. In neither of these modes is any personal or private information about you retained.

But the strength of Zatient is helping real people understand and manage their actual health conditions. If you register as a user with Zatient, and create one or more patient records, personal information such as an email address, your name, date of birth, education, and aspects of your medical history will be requested. You may use your or your patients' real or assumed names as preferred. You may also input real or hypothetical biographical or health information, in order to see how Zatient responds. But ultimately the usefulness of Zatient to you depends upon the accuracy of the biographical and health information you provide.

All information provided is kept confidential and secure in compliance with all applicable law. We will not sell or otherwise disclose any personally identifiable information to any third party. We may, however, aggregate information from a number of registered users or patients to improve or develop Zatient, but never in a way which could be identified with an individual user or patient.

How we use information we collect

We use the information we collect to monitor and improve Zatient. We do not sell any personally identifiable information to any commercial entity. Our plan is to fund Zatient by nonprofit entities for the purpose of enhancing public health and the understanding of medical treatment.

Information you share

In addition to any personally identifiable information you submit to Zatient by registering and using the site, accessing Zatient might disclose non-personally identifiable information such as Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, and the type of browser and operating system you are using.

Information we share

We do not share any individual information about you for any purpose except as required by subpoena or other legal requirement that supersedes this privacy policy.

We may share aggregate information about the users of the site, their experience with the site, their health concerns, and their treatment outcomes. However, any such aggregated information will never be capable of being identified with you personally.

Information security

All data transmitted by you to Zatient is secured by SSL protocol. All data stored on our site is subject to physical, technical, and administrative security measures to ensure its confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility.

Cookies

As almost all interactive websites do, Zatient relies upon small data files called cookies to implement certain features and control sessions. These files are controlled by your browser and can be disabled, but doing so will prevent Zatient from running properly. Zatient's cookies are harmless and expire at the end of each session. Unlike many other websites, Zatient does not use cookies or any other means to track your activities on the Internet, to identify you personally, to create a consumer profile of you, or to target you for advertisements.

Ad servers

We do not partner with or have special relationships with any ad server companies.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy in the future, and any such changes will be effective upon being posted. If we make any major changes to this policy we will notify you by email (sent to the email address specified when you register) or by means of a notice on this website prior to the change becoming effective. If you feel you can't accept the terms of this privacy policy, please do not register with Zatient or use any feature of the site.
